How We Turn Ideas into Products

Henry Ford said that the only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing. We believe in the power of process to produce best-in-class products. Through our years of experience building products for clients we have developed a model that endeavours to set the standard in our industry. At Tribe Digital we want to do more than build products, we want to build an internal culture of design and set the standard for a design-driven agency.

First
meeting

First
meeting

Our first step is a meeting with you and any stakeholders involved in the project to get to know your business, the goals of the project and how we will work together to achieve those goals.

Pre-Discovery Estimation

Pre-Discovery Estimation

Next, we will take the information from the initial meeting and prepare a cost & time estimation.  This will give you a rough timeline of when you could expect your new product to launch and how much it may cost based on the initial requirements.

Discovery

Discovery

During this phase we employ our design thinking methods to help understand the needs of your users and the parallel business needs. We seek to define problems, validate assumptions and ultimately capture insights that will inform our design phase.

Document

Document

During this phase we will prepare a full specification document that details exactly what we will deliver for you. This will include the technical & functional requirements captured during discovery and design, along with your branding and styling guidelines.

Design

Design

This process begins with wireframing and ends with polished designs that look just like your new digital product. The design phase is informed by insight gathered during discovery, research and user testing. Each deliverable comes with two rounds of amends until we achieve sign off.

Development

Development

This is the main production phase in the life of the project. At this point our development team build what has been defined during the design & documentation phases. Once built, it must pass through our quality assurance process before you are finally presented with the finished deliverable.

Deployment

Deployment

The final step is where we deploy your product to production. Here we consider components such as cloud architecture, performance and cybersecurity if that is within that scope of your project. At this point you are officially live!

Support & Maintenance

Support & Maintenance

After go live we can maintain your product for you with both planned works and reactive support. We cover these activities through our SLAs which give you reassurance on response times, hours of operation and issue priority.

Optimisation

Optimisation

Tribe Digital have developed a unique methodology for optimising products through the application of research and experimentation. We harness the power of incremental improvement which compounds to bring your product from good to world class.

The Tribe Design Method

After many years of building digital products, we have refined a user-focused design methodology to help you move fast, learn from users and build products that ultimately drive the numbers that matter for your business. Our team leverages a large toolkit of methodologies and frameworks which include the Google Design Sprint, Jobs to be Done, IDEO’s Design Method, IBM’s Design Thinking and others, to give each client a bespoke methodology to build the very best product for their unique set of design problems.

UX Research

We apply research to understand your business, your users and competitors. This allows us to test assumptions, validate ideas and discover hidden opportunities.

UX Design

We then create user flows that connects and converts using data driven design. Our output during this phase is designed to create a frictionless experience for users.

User Testing

Here we test our designs with real users in order to minimise risk, learn quickly and iterate. This process reduces cost and increases the probability of success.
